Refurbishments, renovations, and reimagined projects, oh my! Today, we’re reviewing the Walt Disney World attractions that will be closed in the month of March — which is just a few short days away! If you’re planning on visiting the most magical place on earth next month, here are the rides you shouldn’t plan on experiencing… Guess you’ll just have to come back again soon!
Magic Kingdom
– Big Thunder Mountain Railroad closed in January, and will reopen sometime in 2026 with some “extra magic”.
– The Dumbo the Flying Elephant Playground in Fantasyland is currently closed for multi-month maintenance, and is expected to re-open Spring 2025.
– Hall of Presidents closed on January 20th, and there is no reopening date set as of today.
– Astro Orbiter will reopen sometime in the summer after a multi-month refurbishment.

EPCOT
– Test Track has been closed for a few months now. The “3.0” reimagined version officially opens later this summer.
– Gran Fiesta Tour Starring the Three Caballeros is currently closed for a short refurbishment, and will reopen in the middle of the month on March 15th.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
There are some substantial projects on the horizon for this park, including two new shows premiering this summer, but Hollywood Studios is safe from the March refurb calendar!
Disney’s Animal Kingdom
– After almost 27 years of performances, It’s Tough to Be a Bug will close permanently on March 17th to make way for a new Zootopia show debuting later this year. This means the last time to catch Flik & friends inside the Tree of Life will be March 16th!
– Kali River Rapids closed earlier in January for some winter time maintenance. Currently, there is no reopening date scheduled.
Thankfully, besides this March 2025 closure list, there are another 70 or so attractions to enjoy at Walt Disney World. Which one are you most excited to experience again soon?
