It appears that as of this morning, several character dining restaurants at Walt Disney World have gone up in the number of Disney Dining Plan credits required to book them. Chef Mickey’s, Akershus, and Tusker House are now listed as 2-credit meals instead of the one credit that was previously listed. Chef Mickey’s lists one credit for lunch and two credits for dinner; Akershus and Tusker House list two credits for both lunch and dinner.
Some posters online are reporting that when they called and asked Disney about it, they were told it is a computer glitch and the restaurants will remain one credit meals, but it’s unclear whether that is actually the case or not.
It is also being reported that pricing may be going up to as much as $59.99 for all three restaurants, beginning October 2. Prices at the Disney restaurants generally change seasonally, so depending on the date, the range now appears to be $35-$59.99.
Presumably, people who had booked these restaurants at the previous price will still have that price honored, but that remains to be seen.
