Live Shooter Hoax at Walt Disney World Resort Lands Arizona YouTuber in Jail

A man from Arizona was arrested at Walt Disney World Monday after he reportedly ran up to guests at the Contemporary Resort stating that they needed to evacuate due to an active shooter, according to an arrest affidavit.

Also in the affidavit, 22-year old Dillon Burch stated that he was working on a school project and wanted to record the guests’ reactions and post them on YouTube. He says he told the guests that he was joking.

Burch was “highly intoxicated” and caused a “significant disturbance” as the entire resort was put into lock-down after midnight.

Police deputies were able to find him hiding in shrubbery where they arrested him and booked him into the Orange County Jail on charges of disturbing the peace and disorderly intoxication. Records show that he was released on bond.
