Disney races are being increasingly popular and to keep generating this excitement, Disney announced that they are bringing back the popular Twilight Zone Tower of Terror race. This race was last run at Disney's Hollywood Studios in 2009 as a 13K. On September 29, 2012, the race is back, this time as a 10-Miler Weekend. The course will be similar to the one previously run, going through the set of the "Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show," past the Sorcerer's Hat and ending at the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror attraction. This nighttime event will conclude with a party after hours at the park, giving racers and their family access to the park's most popular rides, music and Disney characters. Like all Disney races, a new medal is being designed for the participants. The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror 10-Miler Weekend will also feature a 5K race, kid's races and a Health & Fitness Expo. Registration for the events begin February 14, 2012.

To accommodate the new race weekend in the racing schedule, the Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend will move to the last weekend of the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival, November 9-10, 2012.
