Blackbeard to join Pirates of the Caribbean attraction

Disney has announced that the likeness of Blackbeard, played by Ian McShane in the upcoming film Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, will appear in both the Disneyland and Walt Disney World versions of the ride that inspired the blockbuster film franchise. According to Disney, Blackbeard's image will replace that of Davy Jones on the "ghostly waterfall in the grotto scenes" starting on May 20th. This announcement is the latest in a media blitz promoting the fourth film in the series. Fans of Davy Jones should not worry, as Disney does say his image will return to both attractions "later this year."
