Disney Cruise Line releases 2013 itineraries

Disney Cruise Line has released their much-anticipated 2013 itineraries, which include some exciting new destinations like Venice, Italy, and the Greek Isles. One of the most talked about rumors is true - Disney Cruise Line will utilize the Port of Miami as a second departure point for Caribbean sailings. Bookings for the 2013 sailings begins January 26 (January 25 for Gold and Platinum Castaway Club members).

The schedule's highlights include:

In summer of 2013, the Disney Magic will resume European sailings departing from Barcelona for a three-month season. The new Mediterranean itineraries will feature some different options, such as a four-night cruise, seven-night cruises, and 12-night sailings that will head off to some of the newest ports for Disney Cruise Line to visit. One itinerary will include Venice, Italy and the Dalmatian Coast in Croatia; the other itinerary will take guests to Ephesus, Turkey and the Greek Isles, with a stop at Athens. There will be two sailings of each itinerary, one in June and one in July. Rates for these Mediterranean cruises range from $796 for four nights, $1,015 for seven nights, and $2,244 for 12 nights. All prices are per person, based on double occupancy in an inside stateroom.

Beginning on December 23, 2012, the Disney Wonder will sail out of Miami for the first of several Caribbean sailings. The first two sailings will be a six- and seven-night itinerary, but will then switch to the normal schedule of four- and five-night cruises to the Bahamas and the Western Caribbean through May 2013. Ports of call will include destinations already familiar to Disney Cruise Line, such as Cozumel, Grand Cayman, Key West, Nassau, and Castaway Cay. Rates for the four- and five-night cruises will start at $440 per person, based on double occupancy, for an inside stateroom.

Before heading back to Europe for the summer season, the Disney Magic will sail to the Western Caribbean out of Galveston, Texas from the fall of 2012 through May 2013. Rates on the Magic will start at $750 per person for six-night cruises and $920 per person for the eight-night cruises. Rates are based on double occupancy for a standard inside stateroom.

On May 27, 2013, Vancouver will once again be the departure point for the Disney Wonder as it heads off on seven-night cruises to Alaska. Points of interest will include Tracy Arm, Skagway, Juneau and Ketchikan. The Alaskan cruises have proven to be especially popular for Disney Cruise Line, as they also offer an Adventures by Disney add-on that allows guests to combine exciting Alaskan Port Adventures with the beauty of an Alaskan cruise. Rates for these cruise start at $1,015 per person, based on double occupancy in an inside stateroom.

Even with all these new itineraries and destinations, Port Canaveral won't be forgotten. The Disney Fantasy and Disney Dream will continue to offer the popular Bahamian and Caribbean cruises that Disney Cruise Line is known for.

The Fantasy will alternate Eastern and Western Caribbean seven-night sailings, stopping at several different ports. All will include a stop at Castaway Cay, Disney's private island. From January through April 2013, guests on the Eastern Caribbean sailings will experience a unique stop at San Juan, Puerto Rico. Rates for these cruise begin at $1,085 per person, double occupancy in an inside stateroom.

The Dream will round out Disney Cruise Line's offerings will three-, four-, and five-night sailings to the Bahamas and Castaway Cay. Prices for these cruises begin at $450 per person, double occupancy in an inside stateroom.
