Disney Cruise Line's newest ship, the Disney Fantasy, is preparing to leave Papenburg Germany to head on her way to New York City. The previous three ships were christened in Port Canaveral, Florida, but the Fantasy will be christened in New York on March 1. According to the website silive.com, the Fantasy will arrive in the New York Harbor on February 28 through the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge, sailing "past Staten Island and Brooklyn, then make its way between the Statue of Liberty and Governors Island before cruising past downtown Manhattan and pulling into the dock at Pier 88 in midtown Manhattan, just north of the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum."

2012 is a year of expansion for Disney Cruise Line. Not only are they introducing their new ship, but their current ships will be sailing from the new ports of Galveston, Seattle and New York. The Fantasy's christening is taking place in New York to celebrate and honor this expansion.

The Fantasy will leave New York on March 2, headed for Port Canaveral and her maiden voyage on March 31.
