Disneyland Cinema features opening day footage

Disneyland will be showing old "home movies" in the Main Street Cinema for the rest of the summer! The films are never-before-seen footage of the theme park's first five years in existence. The movies were a highlight of the 55th anniversary celebration Saturday, but will be in place through Labor Day weekend. Five of the screens in the cinema will feature an eight-minute color clip of park construction, original rides and attractions that are now closed. The cinema's other screen is playing the ABC broadcast of opening day, with hosts Art Linkletter and Walt Disney.

The Cinema, which was one of the park's original attractions, is free with park admission.
