Beginning in 2013, Grad Nite will no longer be held at Disneyland. The party for high school seniors will move to the resort's other park, Disney California Adventure(DCA). 2013 marks the end of a $1-billion expansion at DCA, which is one of the reasons the party will move. Since its beginning in 1961, the Grad Nites has always been held at Disneyland Park and has hosted more than 5 million high school graduates. Fans of the event seem to have mixed feelings; some are sad that the nostalgia of the event being held at Disneyland is ending, others are excited for the change, commenting that DCA has more of a teen vibe and has more to offer. At DCA, graduates will be able to enjoy an exclusive viewing of "World of Color," as well as dance parties such as ElecTRONica. A few other changes will be taking place as well; Grad Nite attendees will get park-hopper tickets to use during the day before the parties, allowing them to enter both parks. They will also receive Fastpasses for front of the line access to certain rides.

Due to the DCA construction, Grad Nite will still be held at Disneyland Park in 2012.
