Popular Nick Jr. cartoon character Franklin the Turtle will be coming to SeaWorld in January 2013. SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment and Corus Entertainment's Nelvana have teamed up to bring the Franklin & Friends brand to the marine parks for a yearlong promotion that will help bring awareness of the natural world to children. Guests will be able to meet Franklin, as well as take photos with him and get his autograph. Special merchandise will be available, and two new Franklin and Friends TV specials will be created. Several books will combine the SeaWorld Kids brand with Franklin & Friends.

Franklin and Friends began as a children's book series by Paulette Bourgeois and Brenda Clark and is now a CGI-animated TV series airing on "Nick Jr."; in Canada, it can be seen on the channel "Treehouse." Franklin shares his adventures and lessons with his friends Snail, Rabbit, Beaver, Fox, Goose and Bear.
