Pokemon Go, the augmented reality game that has become a worldwide phenomenon in the past couple of weeks, has made its way into the Central Florida theme parks. The game involves using your smartphone to spot and catch Pokemon that appear on the screen. These Pokemon become more plentiful in crowded areas such as the theme parks.
SeaWorld Orlando actually hosted a Pokemon Go lure event this week, allowing passholders early access into the park to access 50 Pokestops around property. Rare Pokemon were hidden around property and guests could “conquer dozens of lure modules.” The park offers wifi and charging stations and encouraged gamers to update their progress on social media accounts.
The Orlando Sentinel mentions Disney Springs as being a good place to hunt Pokemon, as the Disney shopping district does not require an admission fee. There are 30 Pokestops and gyms throughout the area.
