What Is Your Must-Do Disney Parks Tradition?

As Disney Parks fans, many of us are creatures of habit, and honestly, that is part of the magic. Whether you are planning your twenty-fifth visit or booking your very first trip with big eyes and bigger excitement, there is a comforting rhythm to the Disney experience that keeps us coming back. For some families, it is as simple and meaningful as an annual photo in front of Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom, each picture quietly showing how everyone has grown and changed over the years. For others, it might be sharing a Dole Whip while waiting for the Enchanted Tiki Room at Disneyland, soaking in that familiar mix of music, shade, and anticipation. However it looks, most of us have a Disney tradition, and without it, a trip just does not feel quite complete.

For me, that tradition starts well beyond the parks. I have been collecting Christmas ornaments from around the world for years, one from every place we visit and every trip we take. Each ornament earns its place on our very large Christmas tree, and every year it sparks stories, memories, and conversations with friends and family. I cannot leave a destination without finding something that marks its place in our history, and Disney trips are no exception. It is a simple ritual, but one that holds so much meaning for me.

Another must-do tradition is, unsurprisingly, food-related. Every visit includes a proper churro moment, preferably from my favorite stand on Pixar Pier at Disney California Adventure. There are also restaurants that feel completely non-negotiable at this point, like Frontera Cocina in Disney Springs and Jazz Kitchen in Downtown Disney. If I do not sit down at at least one of those spots, part of me wonders if I was really even there. They feel familiar, comforting, and like returning to a favorite place that never changes too much.

Recently, though, a conversation with friends caught me completely off guard. They told me they do not repeat experiences and do not have a single Disney tradition. Not one. You can imagine my pause, followed by a very serious internal reconsideration of that friendship. It made me wonder how common that really is. Do most of us carry these little rituals from trip to trip, or am I alone in treating them like non-negotiable pieces of the experience? Big or small, planned or accidental, I would love to know what your Disney tradition is, the one thing you do every trip that makes it all feel complete.
