Disney has shared a new look at Disney Lakeshore Lodge, and this time, it’s giving us a clearer idea of what the exterior of the newest Disney Vacation Club Resort will look like when it opens.
Set along the shores of Bay Lake, this upcoming Walt Disney World resort is currently slated to begin welcoming guests in summer 2027, and the latest artist concept leans heavily into something Disney doesn’t always prioritize these days… slowing down.
The design centers on nature. Not in an over-the-top way, but in a quieter, more intentional approach. The concept art shows a resort filled with natural light, thanks to large, floor-to-ceiling windows that bring the outside in. Water views, greenery, and open space aren’t just part of the setting. They’re part of the experience.
Disney says the resort is inspired by Walt Disney’s own love of the outdoors, with subtle nods to films like Bambi, Pocahontas, and Brother Bear. It’s not themed in the traditional sense. You’re not walking into a specific story. Instead, it feels more like a tribute to the idea of nature across Disney storytelling.
The resort itself includes 967 guest rooms, ranging from standard studios to larger suites designed for families. One of the more interesting additions is a set of new waterfront “Lake Houses,” offering one- and two-bedroom layouts right along the water. These are a quieter, more secluded option compared to the main resort building.
Views are also a big selling point here. Many rooms are expected to overlook Bay Lake during the day, with the possibility of Magic Kingdom fireworks visible at night.
Disney is framing Lakeshore Lodge as a place to step away from the pace of the parks without leaving the bubble entirely. That balance is something Walt Disney World has leaned into before, but this feels a little more focused on it than usual.
There’s still a lot we don’t know. Dining, recreation, and other amenities haven’t been fully detailed yet. Disney says more updates will be shared over time as the project moves closer to opening.
For now, this first look sets the tone. Calm. Scenic. A different kind of Disney resort experience.
