Hey Disney Friends, if you are anything like me, there is something extra special about getting a peek behind the scenes at how our favorite Disney Parks experiences actually come to life. And now, fans of The Imagineering Story have a very exciting reason to start paying attention!
During D23 Horizons, beloved filmmaker Leslie Iwerks announced that a second season of The Imagineering Story is in the works, bringing us back behind the scenes with the creative minds, artists, engineers, and Imagineers responsible for turning some very big Disney ideas into reality.

For anyone who remembers the original series, this is pretty big news. The Imagineering Story first gave Disney+ viewers an unprecedented look at the history and creative process behind Walt Disney Imagineering, taking us through the people, technology, and ideas that helped shape Disney Parks around the world. The original series featured six episodes and quickly became a favorite for fans who love knowing what happens before we ever step through a park entrance. Disney has continued to highlight Iwerks’ work behind the scenes, including her more recent documentaries Disneyland Handcrafted and Disney Worldbuilders.
And honestly, the timing could not be better. Disney Parks are currently in one of the biggest periods of expansion we have seen, with new attractions, lands and experiences taking shape around the globe. Getting to see the Imagineering process behind some of these projects could be fascinating, particularly for those of us who enjoy spotting the little details and learning how an idea moves from a sketch or model into something we can actually experience.

Disney has not yet revealed all of the details surrounding Season 2, so there is plenty more to learn. But with Leslie Iwerks returning to the world of Imagineering storytelling, I already know this is going straight onto my must-watch list. If you loved the original series, this is one D23 announcement that deserves a very big watch this space!
