It’s time to set your clocks to Pooh time, as we look at another Walt Disney World snack. We’re back on the hunt for a little smackerel of something, this time at Disney’s Animal Kingdom!

If you’ve been anywhere near Disney’s Animal Kingdom lately, chances are you’ve heard about the Cookie Dough Brownie Ice Cream Sandwich. It has quickly become one of the park’s most talked-about desserts, and after FINALLY trying it myself, I understand why!
Cookie Dough Ice Cream Sandwich | $8.29
This Animal Kingdom-exclusive sweet treat is available at Terra Treats in Discovery Island, near Creature Comforts, and at the ice cream stand near Island Mercantile, across from Discovery Trading Company. This is a handcrafted layered treat, with a brownie cookie as the base, vanilla ice cream, topped with chocolate chips and edible cookie dough.

The cookie dough is easily the star of the show. It’s soft, sugary and packed with that classic chocolate-chip cookie flavor. It doesn’t have that gummy taste or texture that you might find in edible cookie dough or ice cream cartons. The chocolate chips add a little crunch, while the sprinkles bring some extra texture (and fun!) to an otherwise very soft dessert.

The vanilla ice cream works well here because it isn’t competing with all that cookie dough goodness. It’s creamy and cold, providing just enough contrast to the rich brownie and sweet topping. The brownie itself is more of a supporting player, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. It gives the sandwich a sturdy base and adds a slight chocolatey flavor without taking over.

One thing I really like about this version compared with traditional ice cream cookie sandwiches is how easy it is to eat. There’s no wrestling with two harder cookies or worrying about everything sliding apart after the first bite. It’s ooey gooey in the best way!

This one earns a 5 out of 5 on my Rumbly in My Tumbly scale! For me, this gives the Key Lime Pie Pop, also exclusively found at this park, a run for its money as being the BEST unique treat to get here. But this one… this one has sprinkles. AND edible cookie dough!
Until next time, be grateful for your plateful!
