This week, the Disneyland Resort made a change in policy at the turnstiles in both Parks, and in doing so, eliminated the classic hand stamp.
Previously, guests using multi-day tickets had their pictures taken at the turnstile on their first visit, but guests using one-day tickets were exempt from that policy and we’re still required to get a hand stamp to show along with their ticket to re-enter the Park. On Monday, Cast Members began taking pictures of one-day ticket holders as well, eliminating the need for hand stamps.
As a guest re-enters the Park, their picture shows on a computer screen allowing Cast Members to verify that the ticket belongs to the guest presenting it.
Disneyland has been taking pictures of guests since 2013 in an effort to combat ticket abuse.
