On Saturday, July 1st, the New York Post published an article referencing a rumor that Verizon Communications Inc. was considering a takeover of the Walt Disney Company. Ten days later, Verizon CEO Lowell McAdam was attending Allen and Co.’s annual media and technology summit, where questions of the possible buyout naturally came up.
When asked about the rumored purchase at the Sun Valley, Idaho conference, McAdam responded with a succinct “No”. He did not stop to answer more questions or lend additional details to his response.
