
The Central Florida theme parks have released their first-quarter injury report for 2015.
Walt Disney World reported six injuries, including a 64-year-old man who hurt his ankle while exiting a car at Tomorrowland Speedway; a 77-year-old man with a “pre-existing condition who felt sick and disoriented at Tomorrowland Transit Authority; a 57-year-old man with a pre-existing condition who lost consciousness on the Great Movie Ride; a 46-year-old man who had a seizure after riding Star Tours; a 72-year-old woman who rode Expedition Everest and had temporary memory loss; and a 36-year-old woman who had been ill earlier in the day and felt “dizzy, shaky and numb” after Expedition Everest.
Universal Orlando reported seven injuries. Several occurred on Harry Potter & the Forbidden Journey, including a 69-year-old man with chest discomfort, a 76-year-old woman who experienced an “altered mental status,” and a 51-year-old man with a pre-existing condition who had “difficulty moving his extremeties.” A 44-year-old woman with a pre-existing condition had back pain on ET Adventure and a 41-year-old man had back pain while riding Dragon Challenge. A 20-year-old man with a pre-existing condition had motion sickness on Revenge of the Mummy and a 5-year-old girl injured her arm while at Camp Jurassic.
There were no injuries reported from SeaWorld, Wet ‘n Wild and Legoland.
The Florida theme parks voluntarily report their injuries as part of an agreement with the state. The injuries on the list occurred on a ride and resulted in a hospital stay that lasted for more than 24 hours.
