Disneyland’s Horses Enjoying their Vacation from Main Street

Earlier this year, the Disneyland Resort began a refurbishment project on Main Street at Disneyland Park that gave the horses of Disneyland an extended vacation at their permanent home in Norco, California.

Typically the horses only work a few days a week, so to keep fit, they are following their usual day-off schedule of grooming, bathing, driving, riding and ground work.

Their vacation does leave them a little more play time where they can be “turned out in an enclosed arena, in groups of three or four, and they run together, kick up their heels and just move as a herd.”

For a look at the horses’ training (and play) schedule, take a look at the video from the Disney Parks Blog.

According to the refurbishment schedule, the horses and the rest of the Main Street Vehicles should be back in Disneyland by mid-March!
