Port Canaveral Accepts $8 Million Grant for Roadway Project

Tuesday, the Canaveral Port Authority was awarded an $8.245 million grant for roadway improvement by the Florida Job Growth Grant Fund. This morning, the Canaveral Port Authority Board of Commissioners held a special meeting where they voted 5-0 to accept the grant, plus enter into an agreement with the Florida Depart of Economic Opportunity (DEO).

The grant will be used towards a $12 million road project meant to improve access to both cruise and cargo terminals. The work will result in increased capacity on north side cargo roads, changes to signals and traffic control, and improvement of signage throughout the terminal and on SR-528 and SR-401.
