Children ages 10 and over are considered Disney “adults” when it comes to theme park tickets and dining at restaurants on Disney property.
Just because the kids’ menu states that it’s for children ages 3-9 does not mean that your older child is out of luck if their heart’s desire is not available from the adult menu. Many restaurants will gladly prepare a larger portion size of something on the kids’ menu for your child with a minimal upcharge; all you need to do is speak to your server at the dining location.
The Cast Members want their guests to be happy with their meals and they typically try to do the best they can to make that happen. Also, it is important to let your server know if you are using the Disney Dining Plan to pay for your meals. While we can’t guarantee that this is possible at all restaurants on Disney property, we do recommend that you ask nicely should your family have this situation arise during your Disney vacation.
