For the fiscal year ending in September 2019, the Orlando International Airport (MCO) saw a record 6% increase in total passengers.
While September itself was down due to Hurricane Dorian, the first monthly decline in over two years, MCO still nearly reached the 50 million passenger mark for the year.
- Domestic travel – up 5.15% at 42,585,696 passengers
- International travel – up 13.61% at 7,223,225 passengers
- Combined travel – up 6.3% at 49,808,921 passengers
Phil Brown, the Chief Executive Officer for the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority said of the numbers:
The 2019 fiscal year numbers are in line with what we have been expecting. We anticipated more passenger traffic, and more demands for enhanced amenities and excellent customer service. As a result, we continue to place an emphasis on our employee training and recognition programs and enhancing our facilities.
Five new airlines began serving MCO in fiscal 2019, including GOL, Swoop, and EL AL.
