Disney has teamed up with Mattel and acclaimed fashion house Viktor&Rolf to introduce a striking new collectible: the Viktor&Rolf x Disney Collector Cinderella Doll. This limited-edition release offers a bold, fashion-forward take on the classic Disney Princess, blending couture design with modern storytelling.
The special-edition doll is being unveiled during Paris Fashion Week at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, placing Cinderella firmly in the world of high fashion. Inspired by a tulle and embroidered gown from Viktor&Rolf’s Spring Summer 2019 Haute Couture “Fashion Statements” collection, the doll reimagines Cinderella through a contemporary lens while still honoring the character’s roots in Disney’s 1950 animated film.

This release also serves as a capstone to Cinderella’s 75th anniversary celebration, which began in 2025. The design leans heavily into modern symbolism, featuring a sculptural haute couture gown, sparkling high heels, and one particularly eye-catching accessory: a smartphone frozen at 11:59 p.m. The detail offers a modern twist on Cinderella’s iconic midnight deadline, reframing the character as a Princess navigating her own path in a contemporary world.

To mark the collaboration, Disney is also releasing a new documentary special titled Disney Princess: Create Your World – Viktor & Rolf and Mattel. The 30-minute episode premieres March 24, 2026, on Hulu and ABC Owned Television Stations’ digital and streaming platforms. The special provides a behind-the-scenes look at the creative process behind the doll and highlights how fashion, artistry, and Disney storytelling came together for this project. It’s the third installment in the Create Your World series, following previous collaborations with Coperni and Pandora.

The Viktor&Rolf x Disney Collector Cinderella Doll is available for pre-sale now on MattelCreations.com and viktor-rolf.com, with wider availability expected in early Spring 2026.
As for me, I’m still deciding how I feel about this very modern take on Cinderella. It’s undeniably artistic and fashion-forward, but it’s also a big departure from the version many of us grew up with. I’m curious to hear what you think. Is this a fresh and exciting evolution of Cinderella, or does it feel a little too modern for your taste?
