May the 4th ‘Dark Side’ Merch FIRST LOOK + Shopping Guide

Disney is continuing to roll out its May the 4th plans, and today, there are two things Star Wars fans care about most: what’s coming and how to actually get it.

Let’s start with the important part. If you’re planning to shop in person at Walt Disney World on May 4, there will be a virtual queue in place at both Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney Springs. You’ll need the My Disney Experience app to join, and timing matters. The Hollywood Studios queue opens at 7 a.m. Eastern, while Disney Springs opens at 9 a.m. If you’re aiming for the park location, you’ll also need valid admission and a reservation if required.

Once you’re in, Disney is also suggesting using mobile checkout at Hollywood Studios, which should help cut down on long lines. Guests can scan items as they shop and pay right on their phones in the My Disney Experience app. Doing this can make a big difference on a busy day like this.

Now for the fun part. Disney is doing daily merchandise reveals leading up to May the 4th, and today’s drop is all about the dark side.

Front and center is a Darth Maul ear headband from BaubleBar (pictured above). It sticks to that signature red and black look, with rhinestone details that give it a little extra edge. It’s bold, but in a way that still feels very wearable in the parks.

There’s also a Darth Maul-inspired long-sleeve tee from Her Universe that layers up the look, along with a varsity-style Darth Vader jacket that’s probably going to be one of the most popular pieces in this collection. The back reads “Join the Dark Side,” which feels about as on-theme as it gets.

All of these items are set to release on May 4, with select pieces landing on DisneyStore.com at 8 a.m. Pacific.

There’s more to come in the days leading up to May the 4th, as Disney says there will be daily reveals, so if you’re building a shopping list, be sure to stay tuned!
