If you’ve ever stepped inside Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, you already know the lobby is something special. The towering fireplace, warm lighting, and Craftsman-style design make it one of the most inviting spaces at the Disneyland Resort. But every so often, Disney’s culinary team takes it to another level.
Just in time for Earth Month, guests visiting the resort can now enjoy a brand-new confectionery display celebrating 100 years of Winnie the Pooh, and it’s easily one of the most charming lobby exhibits we’ve seen in a while.
At the center of the display is a lovely detailed scene straight out of the Hundred Acre Wood. Pooh Bear is front and center at a table with a towering “hunny” cake, while Tigger bounces beside him. Piglet is standing nearby along with Eeyore watching from the side. The entire scene is anchored by a massive tree that feels like it came right out of the storybook.

And then you start noticing the details.

There are tipped-over hunny pots scattered across bright green “grass,” with tiny bees buzzing around them and even climbing up a hanging hive tucked into the tree. Off to the side, Rabbit tends to a small garden, complete with labeled rows of vegetables like “tomayoes” and “celiree,” all crafted entirely from edible materials. It’s the kind of display where every inch has something new to discover if you slow down and really look.

This is one of the reasons why a stop at Disney’s Grand Californian Resort needs to be on your must-do list. The lobby already sets the mood the moment you walk in, but displays like this give guests a reason to linger. You’ll see people stop, circle the display, point things out, and take photos from every angle. It becomes part of the experience, not just something you pass by on your way to your room.
The display was created by the hotel’s Food and Beverage team, and it’s just gorgeous. I can almost smell the chocolate! The craftsmanship, color, and storytelling all come together in a way that feels both playful and impressive.

The display is available now during Earth Month, making it a limited-time offering that’s well worth a stop if you’re in the area. And for those who can’t get enough of all things honey and bees, Disney is also pointing fans toward Secrets of the Bees, now streaming on Disney+ and Hulu.
If you’re heading to the Grand Californian anytime soon, don’t rush through the lobby. Take a few extra minutes. This is one of those little Disney touches that sticks with you.
