COVID-19 Testing Requirement Lifting for International Travel to the U.S.

COVID-19 Testing Requirement Lifting for International Travel to the U.S. MCO main terminal 1-min

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has announced that it is no longer necessary for international travelers to the U.S. to receive a negative COVID-19 test within one day of boarding their flight.

The mandate is set to expire on Sunday, June 12 at 12:01 a.m. EDT and a senior Biden administration official has stated that it will be lifted for now, but that the CDC will reevaluate the situation every 90 days going forward and that the mandate could be reinstated should problematic new variants arise.

When the mandate was originally put into place last year, fully vaccinated travelers were permitted to show proof of a negative test within three days of travel but unvaccinated people were required to provide a negative test taken within one day of traveling.
