Andrew Pogson, 39, of Ontario, Canada, was arrested after a woman accused him of sexually assaulting her. She said they met about six months ago and he told her he was an entertainer for Disney Cruise Line. He invited her to come on a cruise with her and she responded that they were going just “as friends.”
Disney Cruise Line has not said what type of entertainer he was, but they have suspended their relationship with him, pending the case’s outcome.
The two checked into the Marriott Hotel on Augusta National Drive in Orlando on February 12 and she said they slept in the same bed, but that she was clear “she wanted nothing more than a friendship from him” and that nothing happened that first night. They then spent the day at Epcot and she became “extremely intoxicated” after drinking all day.
Once back at the hotel, she fell asleep after ordering room service and when she woke up, she was “naked from the waist down and Pogson was on top of her having sex.”
She says she got out of bed, wrapped a towel around herself and ran to the door for help. She said she punched him in the face twice when he approached her. Witness accounts match hers
Pogson was charged with sexual battery and placed in the Orange County Jail.
