For the sixth consecutive year, Disney Cruise Line has received top honors from U.S. News & World Report in their annual rankings.
In the just-released 2019 rankings, U.S. News once again named Disney #1 for families and #1 in the Caribbean! The rankings are based on several categories, including ship quality, reputation, health assessments, price class, and itinerary.
When ranking cruise vacations for families, U.S. News commented that finding something that the entire family would enjoy can be tough. Upon awarding the gold badge to Disney Cruise Line, U.S. News added:
Does it get more kid-friendly than Disney? From its signature Sail-Away Celebration to its pirate-themed dinners and nighttime fireworks, Disney earns a nod of approval from passengers for its roster full of entertainment. Disney characters can be found on board engaging with children, and the line’s ships also offer adults-only dining areas.
Royal Caribbean International and Carnival Cruise Line came in second and third in cruises for families.
When looking at cruise lines that sail in the Caribbean, U.S. News factored in the variety, number, and percentage of Caribbean itineraries. U.S. News said of Disney Cruise Line:
Disney’s ships sail to a variety of ports across the Caribbean, including Barbados, Jamaica and St. Lucia. Plus, most of Disney’s Caribbean cruises stop at Castaway Cay – the cruise line’s private island in the Bahamas. In addition to offering character greetings and waterslides, the exclusive island boasts less-congested beaches and prime snorkeling.
Seabourn Cruise Line came in second for Caribbean cruises, with Celebrity Cruises third.
