Disney’s Animal Kingdom will be celebrating Earth Day on April 22 by hosting Party for the Planet presented by Disneynature. A sand sculpture featuring the newest Disney film, The Jungle Book, will be constructed near the entrance to the park.
There will be interactive activities throughout the park, including animal-care team members, animal educators, and conservation experts sharing their knowledge with guests. They will talk about the care the animals receive and how Disney works to save endangered species. Guests can also watch the animals being fed.
PhotoPass photographers will have Earth Day-themed props and photo frames available in Discovery Island. Jiminy Cricket will be doing meet and greets from April 17-23 at Rafiki’s Planet Watch.
Joe Rohde, Walt Disney Imagineer and Portfolio Creative Executive, will be signing copies of his newest artwork, created for the Disney Conservation Fund Reverse the Decline initiative. He will also be signing the Disney Conservation Fund coffee table book he helped with. The Disney Conservation Fund will get 100 percent of the profits from the book sales. Joe will be at Discovery Trading Company from 1-2pm. Guests will need to get a wristband to participate in the signing.

Leah grew up in a little farming town in Illinois, right on the Mississippi River. Her Chicago-born husband, David, left the city for her, and they're now raising their three children (Jacob, Jonah and Lydia) just 12 miles from her hometown. As the Senior Editor of the DIS (wdwinfo.com), Leah spends a lot of time writing about, reading about, and discussing Disney. So, it should come as no surprise that one of her family's favorite ways to spend time is going to Walt Disney World and traveling on Disney Cruise Line. She also enjoys shopping, watching movies with her husband and doing crafts with and for her kids.
