There were several unconfirmed reports on social media yesterday that a guest had “fallen” from Disneyland Park‘s Space Mountain attraction on Tuesday afternoon, however it appears that the guest had actually climbed out of his seat intentionally.

The Orange County Register spoke with Anaheim police Sgt. Daron Wyatt, who confirmed the details of the incident:

“He didn’t fall out. He had to maneuver himself around the safety mechanism.”

The guest was a Southern California man in his 20s who was said to have cognitive disabilities. He climbed from his seat during the slow portion of the ride before the initial ascent. Once cast members realized that he had left the ride vehicle, the attraction was stopped and the man was guided to safety. He was uninjured but taken to the first aid station, then a local hospital, as a precaution.

As there was no injury or police report, the man’s age and name were not released.
