Guests visiting EPCOT will soon be able to return to Arendelle. Disney has confirmed that Frozen Ever After in the Norway pavilion will reopen to guests on February 12, following a refurbishment that brings updated Audio-Animatronics to the popular attraction.
The updates focus on Anna, Elsa, and Kristoff, whose figures have been refreshed using newer technology developed by Walt Disney Imagineering. When Frozen Ever After originally opened, its characters were considered groundbreaking thanks to advanced 3D printing and projection-based facial effects. Since then, Imagineering has continued to evolve how Audio-Animatronics are designed and performed.

More recent attractions, including Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Magic Kingdom, showcase a more lifelike approach with expressive faces. That same philosophy has now been applied to Frozen Ever After, meaning guests will notice a more natural look and movement from their favorite Frozen characters.
One of the most noticeable updates is the removal of the previously “glowing” facial projections. Instead, Anna, Elsa, and Kristoff now feature more realistic expressions inspired by the next generation of Disney Audio-Animatronics. Disney fans may recognize the same style from World of Frozen at Hong Kong Disneyland, where newer figures have set a higher bar for realism.
Frozen Ever After remains one of the most popular attractions in EPCOT’s World Showcase, and its February 12 reopening gives guests another reason to plan a stop in Norway during their next visit to Walt Disney World.
