Teen’s consumer drone takes videos above Magic Kingdom and Universal Orlando

Footage taken from the air above the Magic Kingdom by a consumer drone recently showed up on YouTube. The owner, with screen name “YOUR FLYING CAMERA,” claims to be a 16-year-old Canadian vacationer. The video showed the New Year’s Eve fireworks; other videos posted showed Typhoon Lagoon, Avatar Land construction at Animal Kingdom, and the roof of the Contemporary Resort. Disney wasn’t the only theme park featured. لعب البوكر على الانترنت There were videos of Universal CityWalk and Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit roller coaster at Universal Orlando.

Guy Haggard, an aviation attorney, said he believes some of the videos may be of illegal drone flights, violating Federal Aviation Administration rules. He says that all drones are considered aircraft, which means they follow the same regulations as airplanes. لعبة سباق الخيل

There is a no-fly zone over the Magic Kingdom, as well as other parts of the Resort. The restriction was put in place by Congress in 2003 as a result of the terrorist attacks in New York in 2001. Click Orlando says “The Temporary Flight Restriction, or TFR, covers a radius of three nautical miles from the Contemporary Resort and prohibits aircraft from flying there below 3000 feet.” An addition was made in October 2014 banning “unmanned and remote controlled aircraft” and comes with a penalty of fines and up to a year in prison.

The news station says they spoke with someone over Facebook chat claiming to be the owner of the drone. He said he didn’t know about Disney’s TFR and that the drone was a holiday gift. The videos were then removed from YouTube.

Disney and Universal did not file complaints right away, but the FAA can still investigate. Their website states: “(The FAA) occasionally discovers such operations through the news media or posting on internet sites. When the FAA discovers UAS operations in violation of the FAA’s regulations, the agency has a number of enforcement tools available to address these operations, including a verbal warning, a warning letter, and legal enforcement action.”

A Disney spokeswoman said that if spotted, Disney employees are to notify security of a drone’s presence. Universal Orlando spokesman, Tom Schroder, said, “We prohibit guests from using drones in our park due to strong safety concerns. Any unauthorized drone observed over our park will be reported to the FAA and local law enforcement, regardless of its point of origin or operation.”

Bobby Watts, whose company, Encore RC, builds and sells radio controlled helicopters, said, “I think that most of us who do the radio controlled hobby, we really want to do the right thing.” He continued, “Some people just want to get really cool pictures while on vacation. The concern is with people just not using their heads. One of my biggest pet gripes with (drones) is, don’t fly it over other people. لعبة بينجو اون لاين Don’t fly it above theme parks.
