Walt Disney World Marathon and Princess Half Marathon Weekends Converted to Virtual Races

As they did with the 2020 Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend, runDisney has cancelled in-person events for the 2021 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend and 2021 Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend and will convert both to virtual events. Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Merchandise Heading to Disney Springs and shopDisney.com

Earlier this week, we told you that a shipment of merchandise from Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge had landed in Downtown Disney at the Disneyland Resort. Now we have word that, for a limited time, merchandise from Batuu will also be available in Disney Springs and online at shopDisney.com. Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin to Lay Off More Than Eleven Hundred Employees

In a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN notice) sent to Orange County Mayor Jerry Demmings Friday, the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort has announced that they’ll be implementing job eliminations beginning on November 13, 2020. Walt Disney World Water Parks Closed Until at Least March 7, 2021

Walt Disney World has updated their website to indicate that they don’t plan to open their water parks until March 7, 2021. Disney says that, pending government approval, either Disney’s Blizzard Beach or Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon, will open in March. Walt Disney World to Shift Hours for Epcot, Park Opening at Noon Starting Nov. 27

Walt Disney World continues to experiment with theme park hours and has now shifted the opening hours for Epcot beginning November 27th, just after Thanksgiving. According to the Walt Disney World website, Epcot will be open from 12:00pm to 8:00pm on November 27-28, 2020. On Thursday, the Walt Disney Company’s Chief financial official Christine McCarthy spoke during a Bank of America Virtual Media, Communications & Entertainment Conference. Florida Bars Allowed to Reopen September 14 at 50% Capacity

Halsey Beshears, Florida’s Secretary of Department of Business & Professional Regulation, announced Thursday evening that bars in Florida can reopen on Monday, September 14th at 50% capacity. Beshears rescinded his June 26th emergency order suspending on premises consumption of alcohol statewide.
