New Solar Facilities Coming to Castaway Cay, Disney World, & More

In celebration of Earth Day, Walt Disney World has announced that they are developing two new solar facilities in partnership with Reedy Creek Improvement District (RCID) and local utility partners in Central Florida. Together, the new 75MW solar facilities (when combined) will produce enough renewable energy to power up to 40% of its total annual New Solar Facilities Coming to Castaway Cay, Disney World, & More

Walt Disney World’s New 270-Acre Solar Facility is Now Online

A new solar facility built at Walt Disney World, in collaboration with the Reedy Creek Improvement District and Origis Energy USA, is now online and providing renewable clean energy to the resort. Land Preparation Permits Filed for Disney’s 50 Megawatt Solar Farm

Disney’s newest solar project is set to dwarf the existing Hidden Mickey solar farm located outside of Epcot, and its construction timeline seems to be right on schedule. Work was expected to begin on the new 50 Megawatt solar farm this spring, and permits recently filed with the state show that preparation of the 270-acre Land Preparation Permits Filed for Disney’s 50 Megawatt Solar Farm





Easement Signed for New Solar Farm at Reedy Creek, 10 Times Larger than Epcot’s Hidden Mickey

Disney is upping their game in the solar energy department, adding a new complex that will dwarf the current Mickey-shaped solar farm located in the Epcot area. Origis Energy, a Miami-based company with active projects in both Europe and the Americas, has reached an agreement with the Reedy Creek Improvement District to construct a new Easement Signed for New Solar Farm at Reedy Creek, 10 Times Larger than Epcot’s Hidden Mickey
