The EPCOT International Festival of the Arts is happening now through February 23, 2026! Guests can look forward to artfully crafted food and drinks, Disney on Broadway performances, live art demonstrations, and lots of unique Disney art available for purchase.
Germany in World Showcase is home to one of the eighteen food booths at Festival of the Arts and has two dishes you absolutely do not want to miss! The booth is called Pastoral Palate and is described as “Hearty dishes inspired by timeless Bavarian folk art.” At the stage next to the booth, guests can also enjoy the returning the Berlin trio, Die Couches, known for vintage German swing/blues quite literally performed from a couch. Their music is a lot of fun and adds to the ambiance of enjoying a visit to the Pastoral Palate.

As it turns out, the Pastoral Palate only has two food items on the menu and we’re here to tell you they’re both absolute winners!
Red Wine-Braised Beef Short Rib – with parsnip puree, broccolini, baby tomatoes, and balsamic glaze – $8.79

The braised beef short rib is incredibly tender and has a rich flavor from the red wine. While the short rib was easily eaten with just a fork, it was not a fatty piece of beef. The balsamic glaze added to the sweetness making it oh-so comforting. The pairing of the creamy pureed parsnips and crunch from the broccolini is a perfect trio. This is one you’ll be scraping the plate to get every bit!

Black Forest Cake – chocolate mousse with morello cherries and Chantilly cream – $4.99

While the cake looks pretty and is actually a decent serving size, I underestimated how great this version of a Black Forest cake could be! The chocolate mousse sits on top of chocolate cake with a cherry center and is dipped in chocolate. This combination of textures with the rich chocolate is divine. Add the Chantilly cream and the tartness of the cherries, and the combination is so well-balanced. I now cannot go to Festival of the Arts without grabbing the Black Forest Cake!

Pastoral Palate is a perfect example of how Festival of the Arts food can be both pretty and well-plated while also being so delicious. If you’re going to Festival of the Arts this year, do yourself a favor and make a stop in Germany!
