There’s something a little extra special about being in a Disney park on an actual holiday. Not a party night. Not a seasonal overlay that runs for weeks. I’m talking about the day itself, when Disney quietly sprinkles in moments that feel like they’re just for the guests who happened to be there at the right time.
Valentine’s Day is one of my favorites. It doesn’t come with special parades or fireworks or big announcements, but if you’re paying attention, the magic shows up anyway. Case in point: couples. Very rare couples. The kind you don’t usually see together, and almost never in the parks.
On Valentine’s Day this year, guests wandering through EPCOT were treated to some truly swoon-worthy sightings. Beast and Belle appeared together, which alone feels like winning the Disney lottery. But they weren’t the only ones spreading the love. Hercules and Megara have made a rare appearance as a couple, and longtime fans were thrilled to spot Clarabelle Cow and Horace Horsecollar together as well. Crazy fun, right?
And that’s kind of the point. Disney doesn’t always tell you when these things are happening. They don’t need to. It’s like a little thank-you for showing up on the holiday itself. Blink and you might miss it. Stick around, and you might walk away with a memory you’ll talk about for years.

If you happen to be visiting EPCOT for President’s Day, be sure to swing by the American Adventure pavilion in World Showcase, as visiting guests will be treated to “treated to a special set of songs (including Golden Dream and This Land is Your Land) during the Voices of Liberty Echo Sets. Offered on special patriotic occasions, this powerful performance brings two groups of Voices of Liberty performers together for a moving finale, with performers on both floors, sending their voices echoing throughout the pavilion’s decorated, patriotic rotunda.”
The same goes for other holidays too. Christmas Day. Halloween. Even Thanksgiving. The parks feel different. Cast members lean into the moment. Characters show up in unexpected ways. The energy shifts just enough to remind you that you’re somewhere special.
So now I’m curious. Have you ever visited a Disney park on a holiday? Did you notice something unique or unexpected? Or did it just feel different in a way that’s hard to explain? I’d love to hear your stories!
