After one-failed attempt, our team was FINALLY able to attend this year’s Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party (MNSSHP) at Walt Disney World! Our first visit to MNSSHP was rained out (read about it here) but we were able to reschedule for the October 1st party.

There is so much to see and do during the party including exclusive entertainment, trick-or-treating, specialty food and drinks, and special character interactions. That’s why we recommend getting there as early as possible. In fact, you can get into the Magic Kingdom as early as 4 p.m. using your Halloween Party ticket. Before attending, you should also read our exclusive tips on how to maximize your time.
Here’s a look at all of our favorites from this year’s Mickey’s Not-So-Scary!
1. Mickey’s Boo-To-You Halloween Parade
The Boo-To-You Halloween Parade is always a highlight! From the music to the special floats to the rare character appearances, it’s one of the best parades at any Disney park. The parade has recently had some small additions like the Goofy’s fall harvest float complete with scarecrow dancers, Ursula with her eel sidekicks; Flotsam and Jetsam, The Queen of Hearts accompanied by her troop of playing cards, and Cruella DeVille driven in a classic car by Jasper and Horace.
As always, we can never get enough of the gravediggers and the dancing ghosts from the Haunted Mansion. We only wish we had seen the Headless Horseman the night of our party – he usually makes an appearance just before the parade.
2. Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular
The Hocus Pocus stage show is always a hit! Despite the show already being seven years old, we always look forward to the songs, jokes, and rare villain appearances like Hades from Hercules. This stage show is one of the elements that makes this event feel the most like Halloween and we would love to see more Hocus Pocus throughout MNSSHP. There are typically four shows throughout the night with the last one being right at midnight when the party officially ends. We recommend seeing it at least once!
3. Trick-or-Treating
While our candy haul wasn’t quite as impressive as we would have liked, seeing everyone’s costumes and getting to trick-or-treat at the Magic Kingdom is the Halloween experience of our dreams. There are 14 treat locations throughout the park, including a few with special theming and characters. Our favorite stop of the night was inside Mickey’s PhilharMagic, which includes two treat stops and the screen inside the attraction was playing The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad. This would be a great stop if it rained during your party night or if you just wanted to relax.
4. Limited-Time Menu Items
The Magic Kingdom has a long list of Halloween-themed food, desserts, and beverages. Much of which is exclusive to MNSSHP! Without trying all of the items, we had some real winners including –
Creepy Clam Flatbread at Pinocchio’s Village Haus
Terrifyin’ Twice-Spiced Chicken Sandwich at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café
Mickey-Shaped Cheesecake at Casey’s Corner
With SO many highlights, we only scratched the surface of everything you can see and accomplish during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party! Not only that but all of the 2024 MNSSHP dates sold out earlier than previous years. If you’re thinking about attending MNSSHP in 2025, now is the time to book your resort stay and start planning ahead.
