If you’re here, you’re probably a Disney parks enthusiast. One who would enjoy listening to background music and attraction audio on their downtime. It’s one of the easiest ways to bring the magic of one of our favorite places to our home (or workplace!). The curated music which plays throughout the lands and attractions of Walt Disney World can effortlessly play in the background of our daily life. They serve soft reminders of nice theme park memories… and leave us wondering “when is our next WDW vacation again?”
For the latest “Listen to THIS” series, we’re going back in time at EPCOT. Here are three of my favorite defunct EPCOT audio loops — you may have to click through and watch these on YouTube if you see an error message in the preview. Happy listening!
Ellen’s Energy Adventure Full Attraction Audio
The ding dang? Hey, remember when there was a huge dinosaur attraction in Future World? Educating you on fossil fuel energy with Bill Nye the Science Guy and Ellen DeGeneres? Including a Jeopardy scene with Jamie Lee Curtis, Alex Trebek, and “Albert Einstein”? It all sounds like a fever dream now. I love you, Cosmic Rewind, but man do I miss those dinos. Enjoy this 46-minute voyage back in time:
Spaceship Earth Attraction Audio | Jeremy Irons
No one says “like a grand and miraculous spaceship” quite like Jeremy Irons. Listening to this audio brings me back. I often alternate this version between background music loops. Whether you grew up with the narration from Kronkite, Irons, or Dench, Spaceship Earth forever will be EPCOT’s most iconic attraction… I mean, the attraction is located inside the park’s icon for goodness’ sake. Long may she reign.
Harmonious
Let’s end this the correct way – with a nighttime spectacular. I’ll always hold Illuminations: Reflections of Earth near and dear to my heart, but I surprised myself with how much I enjoyed Harmonious. Sure, that weird portal of a barge was an eyesore, but the medleys were incredibly composed and just beautiful. That ending with Someday from Hunchback?! Come on. I find myself listening to this audio on Spotify on late night car rides, specifically the Europe, Latin America, USA and Finale tracks. The version linked here includes the full show audio, plus the post-show exit loop.
Did I miss a favorite of yours? I’d love to hear your choices. Let’s do this again sometime!
