EARTH DAY EVENTS 2008
The following activities are planned at Walt Disney World:
April 17
- All Star Resorts - Tree Planting
- Contemporary Resort - Photo ops with Jiminy Cricket, cooking decorating, recycling game, face painting, organic foods, lady bug releases and a focus on green projects for 2008
- Pop Century - 10am - 12pm - Crafts outside the food court and tree planting
April 18
- Caribbean Beach Resort - 10am - 12pm - Crafts at Old Port Royale and tree planting
April 18 - 20
- Epcot - "Green Weekend, Bugs are cool!" Featuring ways to reduce waste both at home and in your community
- The Seas with Nemo and Friends - Earth Day activities
April 22
- Animal Kingdom - 9am - 3pm - "Party for the Planet"
- Disney Wildlife Conservation Fund becomes Disney Worldwide Conservation Fund
- Earth Day Button
- Activities including Supermarket Sweep and "What's in Sue's Poop?"
- Rafiki's Planet Watch to host photo ops with Jiminy Cricket and conservation storytelling by the Animal Programs team
- Pipa, the talking recycling can to have special Earth Day messages
- Gitar-Dan to have special Earth Day messages in his routine
- Magic Kingdom - 10am - 3pm
- Rose Garden to host photo ops with Jiminy Cricket, face painting and distribute Earth Day button
- Fort Wilderness - EPA literature distributed
- Port Orleans Resort - Judging of the Recycled art display in Riverside and French Quarter lobbies
- Downtown Disney Marketplace - 1pm - 4pm
- Jiminy Cricket drawing classes conducted by the Art of Disney
- Disney chefs prepare "worms and dirt"
- Lady bug releases
- Environmental displays between the Earl of Sandwich and Once Upon a Toy
All theme park activities require park admission. Activities are subject to change/cancellation without notice
