Disney's California Food and Wine Weekends

While only in existence for a few years, Disney's California Food and Wine Festival has quickly become a guest favorite. The Disneyland Resort plays host to this festival that showcases the diverse tastes of the Golden State.

From Friday through Sunday there are celebrity chefs and noted sommeliers who conduct demonstrations and seminars as well as host special dinners. There are complimentary activities, food and wine samplings and Signature events. Most of the action takes place at Disney's California Adventure Park while some events are at the Grand Californian's award winning Napa Rose Restaurant.

The Golden Vine Winery serves as the centerpiece of the California Food and Wine Weekends. At the "Sparkling Bar" located on the upper terrace, you can try sparkling wines and champagne by the glass with tapas.

While at the Golden Vine Winery, you can view the schedule of events and make same-day reservations (when available.)  The Festival Wine Shop is located here with exclusive Festival merchandise, specialty wine products and accessories for the gourmet.

Food and Wine Festival - Complimentary Events

The Festival will include complimentary Culinary Demonstrations at the Bountiful Valley Farm and Pacific Wharf. (Please check the daily schedule of events.)

Wine, Beer and Spirits Tasting Seminars as well as Educational and Lifestyle Seminars hosted at the lower patio of the Golden Vine Winery and Pacific Wharf Stage. (Note that participants must be 21 years or older.)

"Taste Food – Wine - Life"

Eat, drink and enjoy a party for all the senses! Stage 17 in the Hollywood Pictures Backlot is transformed into a culinary spectacle, showcasing the talents of the finest Disneyland Resort chefs and featuring dozens of wines, beers and spirits. Sample delectable cuisine in "grand tasting" style while enjoying outstanding entertainment performed throughout the evening.

NEW! Sweet Sunday’s

Begin your Sweet Sunday with a sparkling toast and a light buffet. Afterwards one of the acclaimed pastry chefs in our lineup will demonstrate how to make three signature desserts. You'll get an opportunity to sample these luscious sweets throughout the session.

    Elaine Ardizzone & Donna Cellere, Sweet Cheeks Baking Company, San Diego

    Sweet Cheeks Baking Company is a two-woman team producing delicious home style creations. Some recipes come from amazing sources like the White House (yes, the big house at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue) and the French Embassy—kitchens in which Donna baked and cooked for years. Others have been sent down from generations of moms and grandmothers, rekindling childhood taste buds and enchanting those with a sweet tooth!

    Elizabeth Belkind, Cake Monkey Bakery, Los Angeles

    As the opening pastry chef at Grace Restaurant, Elizabeth has been credited with bringing notoriety and praise to one of L.A.'s favorite restaurants. Her Wednesday Night Doughnut Shoppe thrilled the city and made headlines in magazines, newspapers and news programs all over the country. Elizabeth was awarded the Star Chefs Rising Star Award in 2006 and has been praised as one of the hottest young pastry chefs in Los Angeles by publications ranging from the Los Angeles Times to Gourmet magazine. Prior to working at Grace, Elizabeth trained in the pastry kitchen at Campanile. For Cake Monkey Bakery, Elizabeth uses her unique style of elegance, whim and playfulness to create amazing recipes using only the finest and freshest ingredients.

    Bret Thompson & Dave Baker, MILK Café and Bakeshop, Los Angeles

    Since the opening of MILK in February 2007, Bret Thompson has won the hearts of Angelinos and critics alike with his innovative approach to homemade cooking including simple seasonal cuisine, ice creams and baked goods. MILK's accolades include four Medals for ice cream at Summer 2008 Los Angeles International Dairy Competition, praises from the LA Times, Business Week, Town and Country, and recipes in Bon Appetit magazine.

    Matt Lewis & Renato Poliafito, Baked, New York

    Baked founders Matt and Renato gutted an abandoned storefront church, added a few ovens, mixers and a coffee machine, and turned 359 Van Brunt Street into a dessert destination. Baked has been widely featured (Oprah's Favorite Things, Martha Stewart Show, Food and Wine Magazine) and received many accolades (French Culinary Institute's best recipe, Citysearch's Best Bakery). Matt and Nato are overjoyed to share their desserts with you!

    Host of Food Network Challenge, Keegan has been named one of the nation's top 10 pastry chefs of 2002 and 2004 by both Chocolatier and Pastry Art & Design magazines. He brings a wealth of experience and competitive energy to his position as Executive Pastry Chef, and serves as emcee for The National Pastry Team Championships, The World Pastry Team Championships and Food Network Challenges. Keegan is chef/owner of d bar desserts in Denver.


Admission to Disney's California Adventure Park is required and is not included in the event price. In accordance with California state law, Guests must be at least 21 years of age to consume alcohol. Advanced reservations are required.


 "Festival Wine Receptions"

The Festival Wine Receptions will take place at the Golden Vine Winery. A variety of wines will be served with hot and cold hors d'ouevres.

    Lasseter Family Winery

    John Lasseter is both a vintner and two-time Academy Award®-winning director. He directed the critically acclaimed films Toy Story, Toy Story 2, A Bug's Life and Cars, as well as executive produced Monsters, Inc., Finding Nemo, and The Incredibles. John is also the chief creative officer of Pixar and Disney Animation Studios and principal creative advisor at Walt Disney Imagineering.

Introduction to Wine Tasting

This course, led by Master Sommelier Michael Jordan, is designed to introduce you to the joys of wine tasting. Each class will offer basic training in the different grape varietals and blends, tastes, structures and characteristics found in every glass. You will use your new found skills to participate in a "blind-tasting" employing your senses to identify four different wines.

Get a glimpse into the intensive training that the Sommeliers of the Disneyland Resort must pass to go on to become certified in the Court of Master Sommeliers.
