* On February 23, 2002 the long-running, popular show at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom dropped its curtain for the last time. It is now replaced with Mickeys PhilharMagic.

Reports from the Orlando Sentinel on February 4, 2002. It is indicated that the "Legend of the Lion King" show at the Magic Kingdom will give way to a new state of the art 3-D show called "Mickey's PhilharMagic". This new show will feature Mickey and other popular character friends in a 3-D format film. Construction of the new theater will follow the closing of the last Lion King show Feb 23rd. No date for completion of the project was mentioned in the article, but watch the DIS for more information as it becomes available.
