Play Disney in the Walt Disney World Theme Parks

We decided to spend an evening strolling EPCOT in Walt Disney World just before the Festival of the Arts opened.

While we were waiting for friends outside of Frozen Ever After in World Showcase, we overheard a family talking about some kind of mission that needed to be completed in the Norway pavilion. My daughter, who’s always up for a little adventure in the parks, asked if the Agent P game was still around. I told her it wasn’t, but that it had turned into the Play Disney Parks app. Neither of us had it on our phones, so she decided to download it while we waited.

As the app was downloading, we noticed several other families around us who seemed to be doing the same mission. We couldn’t quite hear what was going on, but we could see some things activating in the game, like some effects going off in the area. At one point, a couple of people in line were trying to figure out where the smoke was coming from on top of the store—turns out, it was part of the game’s magic.

Once the app finished downloading, my daughter was amazed at how many games there were to play, both while you’re in the park and even back at home. Her favorite was Mickey and Minnie’s Trivia Time. The trivia was a bit on the easy side, but it was fun, and she learned a few things about the characters’ roles in the parks that she hadn’t known before.

Now, the only downside we ran into was that the game’s response time could be a bit slow. The next clues in the mission often took forever to load and sometimes even froze her phone. We had to restart the app several times, and she ended up deleting a few apps to free up space, which helped a bit, but it still wasn’t as fast as we hoped. On the bright side, the battery didn’t drain at all while playing, which was a relief. All in all, I think this app is a great one to have, especially if you’re missing Disney once you are back home. You will also see the park in a new light, appreciating all the details that make up Walt Disney World. There are also games for Disneyland and Disney California Adventure, so it’s perfect for anyone planning future trips. It’s definitely worth checking out!

‘Til next time, see you in the parks!
