A vacation to the Disneyland Resort doesn’t have to break the bank. There are plenty of hotel options at a variety of different pricing levels. In fact, in addition to the Motel 6 Anaheim Maingate that I visited a few trips ago, there are FIVE Best Westerns that are part of the Disneyland Good Neighbor Hotel program.

The Disneyland Resort is surrounded by locally owned and chain non-Disney eateries, lodging and more, so sometimes there are some great options (and values) to be had just outside of the gates. When it comes to hotels, Disney has its Good Neighbor Hotels, which can be included with your park tickets as part of a Disneyland Resort Good Neighbor Hotel Vacation Package.

Recently, I had a chance to stay at the Best Western Plus Pavilions, located on Katella Avenue just a short walk south of the Disneyland Resort.
The two-story 99-room hotel has a variety of room types, including 2 Double Beds, 2 Queen Beds, 1 King Bed, and a King Suite that sleeps 8. My room featured two comfortable beds and was conveniently located on the first floor of the hotel.

The room also included a nice sized dresser, television, small table with fluffy chairs, and an armoire for additional storage.

As with most hotels at this level, the sink area is located in the main room and includes space for the refrigerator, microwave, and coffee pot. The area also included the air conditioner, in a very unusual location.

The toilet and shower were in their own space and featured squeeze bottles of bath products, including body wash.

I found the room very comfortable and liked that I could park my vehicle just outside the door.

On the second floor, just above my room, were the hotel’s laundry facilities and a very nice gym space.

If you need to take a break away from the parks during your stay, the hotel has a heated pool and hot tub area with plenty of shaded seating.

Each morning at the Pavilions, you have two free options for breakfast.
First is a grab-and-go breakfast, with several snacks and a bottle of water. The snacks may vary, but my bag included a granola bar, danish, and small orange.

The other option is much heartier. The Pavilions has partnered with the Denny’s next door to serve a hot breakfast to their guests.
The breakfast includes three items, plus a drink. Currently, there is a small service charge for eggs and you should also account for a tip for your server. So, while not completely free, this is a great option if you enjoy a full breakfast.

The walk from the Best Western Plus Pavilions is not bad at all. In less than 20 minutes, you’ll arrive at the Downtown Disney District entrance, then it’s just a short walk from there to the park entrances.

Parking at the hotel is plentiful, however the hotel does charge $15 per day for parking. If you plan on visiting the parks on check-out day, you can leave your vehicle until 3:00 pm that day.

With its great location and comfortable rooms, I would definitely recommend checking out the Best Western Plus Pavilions. It’s hard for me to resist a free breakfast at Denny’s.
Next trip, I’ll be checking out the classic Best Western Plus Stovall’s Inn, which is just a few doors down from the Pavilions.
