Halloween season is officially underway at Walt Disney World, which means plenty of pumpkin, apple, and spooky treats have made their way onto menus around the parks. Over at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Woody’s Lunch Box has joined in with a new seasonal Lunch Box Tart that sounded good enough for me to make a special stop in Toy Story Land.
Located across from Alien Swirling Saucers and near Toy Story Mania, Woody’s Lunch Box is one of my go-to quick-service stops at Hollywood Studios. Along with sandwiches, Totchos, and frozen drinks, the location has become known for its rotating lineup of Lunch Box Tarts. And for Halloween season ONLY, pumpkin has once again entered the chat.

Pumpkin Lunch Box Tart | $5.29
The new Pumpkin Lunch Box Tart is a pumpkin pie-filled pastry topped with marshmallow fondant, Halloween sprinkles, marshmallows, and a chocolate jack-o’-lantern.
I’ll admit, I wasn’t expecting to like this one nearly as much as I did… The pastry itself was soft and buttery, with that familiar Lunch Box Tart crust surrounding a relatively thin layer of pumpkin filling. Don’t let the amount of filling fool you, though. The pumpkin flavor comes through surprisingly well, with enough warm spice to give it that classic pumpkin pie flavor without cinnamon taking over the whole thing.

I also appreciated that it wasn’t overwhelmingly sweet. With fondant, sprinkles (adorably shaped like ghosts, bats, and pumpkins), marshmallows, and chocolate all sitting on top, this could have easily gone in that direction. Instead, everything was pretty well balanced. While the filling isn’t as substantial as you’d find inside a traditional hand pie, there was still enough pumpkin in every bite to make the flavor the star.

I’d absolutely get this one again. Pair it with an iced coffee for an easy fall snack, or, if you’re heading over to Galaxy’s Edge afterward, perhaps a Fuzzy Tauntaun from Oga’s Cantina. I’m not here to judge your Halloween snack itinerary.
Bottom line: GET THIS. The Pumpkin Lunch Box Tart is a simple seasonal addition, what I like to call a deluxe theme park Pop-Tart. But, if pumpkin pie is your thing, it’s well worth a stop at Woody’s Lunch Box. Happy Halloween!
