UPDATE 3/5/18: The Hollywood Reporter shared that Disney issued the following response on the matter, “The posters were created by an outside vendor and it’s something we are currently looking into.”
Hachim Bahous, an artist from France, has made a forgery accusation toward Disney on his personal Facebook page. In the post, Bahous states that Disney copied the artwork he created for album covers on a project he did for Sony Music France for use in their movie posters for Solo: A Star Wars Story.
Last month, the Walt Disney Studios revealed the retro-style character posters for the latest Star Wars movie. The posters highlight a vintage pop-art style and include shots of various characters within the lettering and similar color schemes as the album covers that were reportedly released by Bahous back in 2015.
One look at the posters next to the album covers and it’s nearly impossible to not notice their similarities.

As of the time of this posting, Disney nor Sony have released a comment regarding the artwork, but Graphic Designer Adam Levermore took to Twitter to call Disney out.
