Walt Disney World raised prices in areas that will affect not only those that visit Walt Disney World often, but also those who drive their own vehicles to the theme parks. The cost to park in theme park lots was increased from $17 to $20 a vehicle. Valet parking also went up from $15 to $25 per vehicle. However, those price increases weren’t the big news of the day.
Without much fanfare, Walt Disney World also adjusted the names and benefits of their annual pass system and with it, raised prices for passes and a popular dining discount plan.
The Tables in Wonderland discount card, which gives participants a 20% discount on meals at most table service restaurants, increased in price from $100 to $150 for annual passholders and from $125 to $175 for Florida residents.
The annual pass system is now offers a Platinum Plus Pass, Platinum Pass, Gold Pass, Silver Pass, Weekday Select Pass, Epcot After 4 Pass, Water Parks Annual Pass and Water Parks After 2 Annual Pass.
The Platinum Plus Pass is basically what used to be the Premium Annual Pass, and includes admission to the 4 theme parks, water parks and ESPN Wide World of Sports. This pass used to be $779, but is now $829 ($729 for Florida residents and DVC members).
The Platinum Pass is the former regular annual pass and includes admission to the 4 theme parks. This was previously $654, but is now $749 ($649 for Florida residents and DVC members).
The Gold Pass is an annual pass only for Florida residents and DVC members. This pass is $549, which is only a $20 increase from the old passes, but the difference is that the Gold Pass includes blockout dates around Christmas, New Year’s and Spring break/Easter. There were previously no dates blocked out with this pass.
The new benefit for the Platinum Plus, the Platinum and the Gold passes is the ability to download Disney PhotoPass photos. Memory Maker, which is the program used to access and view PhotoPass photos, is normally a $169 option available for purchase in advance and $199 if purchased while on vacation.
The Premier Passport, which gives guests access to both Disneyland and Walt Disney World, is still available, but has jumped in price from $1099 to $1439.
The other passes are for Florida residents (with the exception of the Water Parks Annual Pass) and are similar to what was available before.
