You might have heard about the new Starbucks cups and mystery pin sets that just dropped at Walt Disney World and Disneyland. (They’re also available on DisneyStore.com)
For $49.99, you can get an adorable Starbucks x Disney Parks tumbler themed to the park of your choice (well, depending which one you found it at) and a mystery pin pouch including two pins themed to that specific park inside the cup.

After reviewing the full lineup of pins, I stopped by my favorite park – Disney’s Hollywood Studios – to try my luck at securing the two pins I want the most: Gertie the Dinosaur and Miss Piggy Fountain from Muppet*Vision 3D. If not, hey, at least I’ll get to enjoy those same designs on my new cup.
I found the new Starbucks Cup & Pin Set at Celebrity Five & Dime on Hollywood Boulevard. I also stopped into The Trolley Car Cafe (the in-park Starbucks), but was surprised to see they do not have the cup available there.
I quickly scooped one up (thank goodness for that Annual Passholder discount, my total went down to $42), and headed to Echo Lake for the grand unveiling.
The cup is obsession-worthy alone with those glittering details and the colorful sticker-style of the park icons. In addition to Gertie and Miss Piggy, you’ve got the Hollywood Tower Hotel, Mickey atop the Crossroads globe from the park’s entrance, a Millennium Falcon and lightsaber, a “pizza planet” and little green alien, a super-stretch Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster limo zooming through a donut, and Lightning McQueen (from the now-defunct Racing Academy attraction).
It’s time for my pin reveal, which was a bittersweet win/lose. Look, each of the pin designs are cute, but there was a certain one I was hoping to not get…
I’m SO GLAD to have another Gertie souvenir to add to my collection. Unfortunately, the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster pin was my least desired from the lineup (if anyone wants to trade let me know). That Miss Piggy Fountain one is calling to me, but for another $50, should I gamble again? And purchase the same cup… again? I do wish Disney would sell the mystery pin packs separately.
I did ask the Cast Members at Celebrity Five & Dime if they had any extra of the pins in case someone purchased a duplicate pin, or if they received one they didn’t like; but they do not have any extra for trade. What you get is what you get. Purchase another $50 cup and try again?
What do you think of this blind bag-inspired phenomenon?
