It’s been a strange week. More resort closures, more travel bans, isolation, and quarantine; it’s been eventful. The Monday Merch Meeting is now in session, helping you pass the time at home, uncomfortably close to your loved ones, by contemplating the future of travel and resort shopping! Let’s begin with one of my favorite monthly releases, Minnie Mouse: The Main Attraction!
Minnie Mouse: The Main Attraction – March
Minnie Mouse is spending her year in transformation as twelve park attraction-inspired collections are released, one month at a time. January’s limited release drew upon the space-age theming of Space Mountain. February saw the introduction of a more rebellious phase for Minnie as she set sail with the Pirates of the Caribbean. That brings us to Saturday, March 21st, when Minnie made her return to a classic, lady-like style, thanks to the influence of the tea cups of the Mad Tea Party.
Minnie Mouse: The Main Attraction – Mad Tea Party Limited Release Collection includes Minnie Mouse Plush 19″ ($29.99), Ear Headband for Adults ($34.99), Mug ($19.99), Loungefly Mini Backpack ($75), and Pin Set ($19.99).
Disneyland’s Avengers Campus Merch announced on D23.com
D23 certainly delivered some exciting news with its sneak preview of the upcoming Avengers Campus product lines that will be accompanying the new land opening in Disney California Adventure on July 18th, 2020.
Your new preferred shopping destination, WEB Suppliers, will be located across from the WEB Building, and will serve as home to the classic park favorites like pins, cups, accessories, and the all-new Spider-Bots!
Spider-Bots are remote-control based with eight articulated legs that move the bot backward and forward. Want more from your spidery sidekick? Tactical upgrades are also available, allowing your bot to change its appearance and take on the additional abilities of other Marvel characters.
“The team at WEB is very inspired by those Super Heroes they see training over at the campus. They’ve developed these tactical upgrades that change not only the overall appearance of the Spider-Bot but also enhance the Spider-Bot’s capabilities,” – Brad Schoeneberg, director, Merchandise Strategy & New Park Experience Development, Disney Global Product Creation.
Need somewhere to store your Spider-Bot when out and about, but not ready to release their power on the world? Not to worry, Disney has you covered with this epic backpack, specially designed to accommodate the needs of your little mate when on stand-by.
Of course, Disney can help you fill up the rest of that backpack as well. They will be offering mini-figures, Spider-Man light goggles that display expressions, web shooters, and much more.
My favorite part of this preview is the STEM-inspired sets that will be available, allowing for science experiments and hands-on fun!
And then there is apparel. What good Disney merchandise line would be complete without a series of t-shirts, sweaters, and hoodies?
Summer Stitch Clothing for Baby
For many of you northern hemisphere locals, summer is coming, and what better way to enjoy your isolation, I mean, spring vacation, than by the pool in new swimwear?
Disney has just added these cute little outfits, swimwear, and accessories, all sporting baby Stitch himself, to their Baby Apparel line.
New Ink & Paint Collection Pins
Out of all the Disney collectibles, I’ve got to say I have never been much of a trading pin person; however, that may have to change. This set of new Ink & Paint Collection pins just has something special about it.
Perhaps it’s the mechanics of the animation working in the background, or maybe it’s just that they are tugging on my heartstrings a little with classic characters and timeless adventures. I don’t know…but I love them. If you can’t wait to get your pin fix until the parks reopen, then grab them online at shopDisney.com. Each pin is sold separately for $12.99. I’d start with the Mary Poppins Penguin Waiter pin, myself.
New Release MagicBands
When you make your inevitable return to the parks, you’ll want to be sporting your best Disney outfit. You can now complete that perfect come-back look with one of the newly released MagicBand designs from Disney! Styles include the Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway MagicBand 2 – Limited Release, $29.99, Cinderella 70th Anniversary MagicBand 2, $29.99, and the Mickey Mouse Park Life MagicBand 2 – Limited Release, $29.99. Like to keep your park accessories simple? Check out the classic Disney Parks MagicBand design now in Lavender ($14.99).
Petunia Pickle Bottom – Toy Story Collection
The new Toy Story Collection from Petunia Pickle Bottom can now be found at shopDisney.com featuring a Snack Pouch ($13.99), Double Bottle Pouch ($17.99), ACE Diaper BackPack ($164.99 or Mini for $79.99), as well as a Belt Bag for $49.99.
And that’s a wrap for this week’s merch search! Stay with us for all the news in the week ahead.
‘Till next time, my Disney-loving friends, meeting adjourned!
