Weird Price Difference in New Sipper Across Disney Parks

Hey friends. I wanted to share something I stumbled across this morning while checking out the new sipper and popcorn bucket arriving at both Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort. These bright, playful snack novelties can be fun to use in the parks, but they are just as charming when brought home as a way to sprinkle a little Disney magic into everyday life. I love the idea of setting up a family movie night with Disney Parks popcorn buckets and sippers, ready to watch our favorite stories unfold on screen.

As I looked into where exactly you could find these new delights, I noticed something I had somehow missed before. The pricing is wildly different from coast to coast. Admittedly, I am not a big popcorn in the parks person, and I have never built up a bucket or sipper collection. Between limited suitcase space and my tendency to bring home far too much apparel, accessories, and homewares each trip, these novelties have never been a priority. Because of that, I had never really clocked a price discrepancy until now.

At Walt Disney World Resort, over in Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the Little Green Men Jetpack Sipper is available at Woody’s Lunch Box for $19.79. Meanwhile, that exact same sipper is popping up at Disneyland Resort for $29.79. You can find it at Alien Pizza Planet in Disneyland Park and at Boardwalk Pizza and Pasta in Disney California Adventure, both at that higher price point. I even double-checked to make sure I was looking at the same item, wondering if perhaps a different version or image was confusing things. Nope. Same sipper, same design, very different price.

Naturally, I went digging for an explanation and came up short. The only reasoning I could find leaned on a vague supply-and-demand argument that felt thin at best. In the end, the conclusion I keep circling back to is a simple one. Disneyland prices this item higher because it can. It stands to reason that the product costs the same to manufacture, yet the West Coast price is more than 50 percent higher than its East Coast counterpart.

Has anyone else noticed this kind of cost difference lately? It definitely made me pause, and I am curious if this is something other Disney fans and collectors have been seeing more often across the parks.
