A new sailing has been added to the list of Disney Cruise Line itineraries for 2017. TheDisney Cruise Line Blog reports that a 3-night Bahamian cruise on the Disney Fantasy is now listed as departing from Port Canaveral on May 17, 2017. The cruise will actually spend two days at Castaway Cay, returning to port Saturday, May 20, 2017.
The article shares a little speculation on why this cruise was added, when sail dates have already been released into 2018. The Disney Fantasy had a 3-week gap in its sailings beginning in late April 2017. The site has been assuming this is a dry dock scheduled for the ship, though nothing has been officially announced by Disney. The addition of this new sailing may mean that the dry dock schedule has been finalized and there was enough time to add the short sailing before picking back up with the already-announced 7-night Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries.
